As we make our way through the uncertainty of COVID-19, the operations at Swechha for the academic year 2021-22 will proceed with due consideration and evaluation of the situation to ensure children’s safety.
We are prepared to begin the academic year for Kindergarten in-person from the first week of July 2021 with effective implementation of health and safety procedures. However, if and when there arises a need to operate remotely, we plan to choose between the following two alternate modes of learning based on the circumstances.
[Please note that at no point will we ask or encourage online engagement and interaction for children.]Limited capacity on campus:
In the event of a reduced yet persisting risk of COVID-19, school will be operating with limited capacity on a staggered basis. For this mode of learning, staggered schedules will be prepared for in-person learning where specific days and timings will be allotted for children to physically be on campus. Families will be asked to and guided on incorporating a healthy, consistent rhythm at home on the remaining days when children are not physically attending school.
Waldorf learning at home:
In the event of high levels of COVID-19 in the community at large, school will be closed for in-person learning. We will work towards supporting families in incorporating a meaningful and joyful rhythm for children at home taking into consideration the schedules of family members. For this mode of learning, families will be asked to collect a kit of artistic materials that will support sensorial activities and self play that are part of our classroom. Additionally, teachers will guide families through weekly online interactions, circle-time and storytime resources, and provide extended support for individual concerns.
In any mode of learning, we strive to keep the core of our efforts centered around the development and well-being of children. To this end, all our teachers and staff will prepare and deliver accordingly. We request parents and family of children to extend their involvement and coordination for ensuring the learning and rhythm continues throughout.
